You may have experienced a time, where you wanted to build a new habit, but after some days forgot about it again. There are some things that have helped me embed a new habit in my life.
It’s really important to stick to it the first month. You have to do it everyday, even if you’re tired or don’t want to. You have to get used to it, otherwise it won’t stick. Do this habit at a specific time, for example after you’ve brushed your teeth. If you that, you don’t have to think about when you’re going to do it. You can reward yourself with little things. Maybe that’s breakfast for you or an episode of your favorite series. After a workout, it can be the cold shower you can take after it.
Try to get to a point where you don’t have to think about whether you want to do it or not, you just do it automatically.
